Dust reverberation mapping and light-curve modelling of Zw229-015

چکیده

Multiwavelength variability studies of active galactic nuclei (AGN) can be used to probe their inner regions which are not directly resolvable. Dust reverberation mapping (DRM) estimates the size dust emitting region by measuring delays between infrared (IR) response in optical light curves. We measure DRM lags Zw229-015 ground-based and Kepler curves concurrent IR Spitzer 3.6 4.5 $\mu$m from 2010-2015, finding an overall mean rest-frame lag 18.3 $\pm$ days. Each combination curve returns that consistent with each other within 1$\sigma$, implies different wavelengths dominated same hot emission. The measured for found consistently smaller than predictions using lag-luminosity relationship. Also, emission actually depends on geometry structure as well, so we use Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) modelling simulate distribution further estimate these structural geometrical properties. find a large increase flux 2011-2012 observation seasons, is more dramatic curve, well simulated single component. When excluding this flux, suggests distributed extended flat disk, finds inclination angle 49$^{+3}_{-13}$ degrees.

Shrinkage Curve: Experimental Study and Modelling

In order to study the shrinkage process of clayey soil, we perform a modified laboratory test allowing to measure simultaneously and continuously the vertical displacement and the weight of natural state specimen. The experiment was conducted on undisturbed clayey specimen. Using the experimental results, and on the basis of the existing relation between the soil water content and its structura...

Light-curve modelling for mutual transits

In this paper we describe an algorithm and deduce the related mathematical formulae that allow the computation of observed fluxes in stellar and planetary systems with an arbitrary number of bodies that are part of a transit or occultation event. The method presented does not have any limits or constraints on the geometry and can be applied for almost all of the available limb-darkening models ...

Advances in Reverberation Mapping

This contribution briefly reviews the reverberation mapping technique which leads to determination of black hole masses. I focus on the emerging relation between the broad-line region size and the active galactic nucleus (AGN) luminosity, and on an overview of recent results of reverberation mapping studies which are starting to cover the full AGN luminosity range. Preliminary results and time ...

Physical Modelling and Measurements of Plate Reverberation

In this article, the plate reverberation unit is studied. This effect unit has been intensively used in recording studios since the late 50's. From a mechanics point of view, this plate can be modeled by means of the Kirchhoff equations of motion of a thin linear plate. This basic model allows us to understand the common points and differences between the natural acoustic reverberation and the ...
